Join Welcoming Australia and the Australian National Maritime Museum at Kilburn Community Centre to share your stories about water for an upcoming exhibition

Sea Country to Safe Harbour is an exhibition pop-up for all-ages with community
workshops and collaborations. The exhibition is hoping to come to Yitpi Yartapuultiku this
October to early January 2027 - and you can be involved! If you live, work, connect, play or volunteer within the City of Port Adelaide Enfield, we'd love to hear and share your experiences with water.
The theme of the exhibition is connectivity through Water, aiming to bring First Nations
Knowledge on water together with migrant stories and perspectives by framing water as
both sovereign Country and as a pathway of movement, memory, hope and connection.
The Australian National Maritime Museum will be exploring ideas such as:
Australia as a country shaped by sea and connected by rivers
Water is life
Therapeutic qualities of water
Water symbolism & Cultural Traditions
Journeys over the sea
Maritime stories
Experiences of water living in Australia: saltwater, freshwater, fishing, swimming, the beach, the local pool, rivers, boats, floods, droughts, storms & the smell of rain on the earth.
