Shared Reading - An evening at Semaphore Library
Description
Come and try Shared Reading in a special evening session.
Drawing on bibliotherapy to support wellbeing, Shared Reading brings people together to enjoy short stories and poems in a welcoming group.
A trained facilitator reads aloud, pausing for conversation on themes of life, love and resilience. There’s no preparation or pressure to participate. It’s not quite a book club, but a chance to be read to, share your thoughts and connect with others.
Refreshments provided.
Age: Adults 18+
Price: FREE
Bookings: Bookings essential – spaces are limited. Bookings open 2 weeks before the event.

This session is facilitated by PJ Edwards, a qualified Shared Reading Facilitator and social bibliotherapy practitioner. Social Bibliotherapy uses literature that is read aloud in group settings to promote health, wellbeing and connection. PJ is passionate about inclusive Shared Reading programs that focus on joy, wellness and social connection.
