    Event description

    Shared Value Masterclasses

The masterclasses provide an education pathway for participants to build a deeper understanding of shared value theory and application by exploring real-world case studies. In our 2022 series, we will be strengthening the Harvard Business School academic underpinning of shared value theory, by incorporating HBS case studies and seminal articles – drawing out shared value principles and connecting the theory to the practice with the help of relevant company protagonists who can provide further insight, regional context and shared value work in progress.

Masterclass Two: ‘Shared Value as an Innovation Strategy’

In this second session shared value expert Hugh Foley will unpack the strategic transformation journey of Enel, from Italian state-owned monopoly into a global leader in renewable energy and shared value creation. You will hear about Enel’s Open Innovability model and how it continues today to drive a culture of innovation across the Enel group globally. To reflect the local application and evolution of shared value at Enel Green Power Australia, Sustainability Manager Sunny Rutherford will share learnings and insights from a local Cohuna Agrivoltaic Project.

    This session will help to:

    • Provide an example of shared value leadership and how it created a path to long-term relevance and prosperity
    • Understand how unmet social and environmental needs can be transformed into opportunities for innovation and growth.
    • Understand how shared value can drive innovation and visa versa
    • Explore the concept of open Innovation: and how you can draw both from within and outside of your organisation in cultivating a culture of innovation
    • Consider the often competing demands of short and long term goals, and how to tackle them in your organisation

    Preparation

To ensure you come equipped to get the most out of the masterclass, participants will:

    • Receive case study materials
