Sharing Best Practice Manawatū 2024
Event description
A Sharing Best Practice (SBP) conference will be held at Central Normal School on Saturday 19th October 8am-1pm.
SBP is a half-day of premium evidence-based professional development and an opportunity to share insights on teaching. Aimed at primary and secondary leaders, teachers and allied health professionals.
You will hear from teachers and other professionals sharing their successes in the classroom or field of work. These people adopt evidence-informed practices into their teaching to accelerate and meet the needs of their learners.
Come on your own or bring a team - learn about evidence-based instruction and wellbeing and enjoy the networking opportunity with other amazing educators. A generous morning tea is included.
The overall theme for the conference is: Combining the art of teaching with the science of learning.
There will be a keynote presentation from Regan Orr (Principal and Leadership Advisor) and three workshop breakout sessions led by New Zealand school leaders, teachers, researchers and other teaching and allied health professionals. There will be a big focus on structured literacy, structured approaches to maths, supporting social and emotional learning and behaviour curricula, building a knowledge rich curriculum and whole school curriculum planning.
See Full programme for details and to make your selections for the workshop breakouts.
Our presenters generously volunteer their time, allowing us to keep conference costs low and accessible to all.
