FAQs
- Who is this event for?
Women* of all ages with basic computer skills who are interested in their first step into tech, coding, and learning more about career pathways. Most of our community is early to mid career women 25-50 years old however we've had the full span of generations - bring your kids or your grandma along (Under 18s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.)
- Do I need to know how to code?
Nope! These workshops are beginner-friendly. We have a huge team of mentors who are here to help you every step of the way
- Do I need to bring my own computer?
Yes, please bring your own laptop. We don't mind if its Windows, Mac, or Linux. If you're using a work computer without admin rights, or an ipad/tablet or phone you may be limited in the tutorials you can do - but we will do our best to make it work for you!
- I've been before - can I return a second time?
Absolutely, however a fair use policy applies - click here. Spaces are strictly limited, and no-shows do mean that others on the waitlist can't make it. Repeat no-showers will, unfortunately, have their tickets cancelled to make it fair and accessible to everyone.
- Do you offer an online option?
No, unfortunately this event is all about human connection, IRL. We do not run any online programs (other women in tech organisations do, but we do not), but we do have a Slack channel if you're craving some virtual connection. Alternatively, check out our tutorial page tutorials.shecodes.com.au
- What should I bring?
A laptop (fully charged if you can!)
A charging cable (just in case)
A water bottle to stay hydrated
We provide lunch, cupcakes, mentors and vibes
- What are the terms and conditions?
All She Codes events are governed by these Terms and Conditions, and our no-nonsense Code of Conduct.
If you have specific concerns about anything mentioned in either of these documents, please reach out to us before the day.
