Event description

SHIELD CRC: Uniting Australia to Build a Secure and Resilient PNT Ecosystem

Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) has become integral to our everyday lives - enabling everything from secure financial transactions and reliable defence operations to smart energy use, smooth transport, fast emergency response, and the connected devices we depend on daily. Yet, while we often take this for granted, PNT systems face growing threats from cyberattacks, interference, and geopolitical risks.

The SHIELD Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) is a new national initiative designed to address these vulnerabilities, catalyse our emerging PNT industry through innovation, and build sovereign PNT capability. We invite you to a short information session to learn how you can be part of this game-changing initiative.

Who should attend:

  • Defence and emergency agencies seeking secure and trusted navigation

  • Infrastructure and utilities providers needing timing integrity

  • Tech companies and researchers developing PNT, AI, quantum, or cybersecurity solutions

  • Policy makers and strategists working on national resilience

  • Investors and industry leaders interested in co-designing next-gen technologies

Join us to hear from SHIELD CRC leaders, understand the research pillars, explore partnership options, and see how your organisation can help shape Australia’s secure PNT future.

For more info, contact Prof. Allison Kealy at akealy@swin.edu.au.

Together, we can secure what moves, powers, and connects Australia.

Note: Upon registration, attendees will be sent a calendar invite with the information session link.
