Do you have a love-hate relationship with networking but want to embrace it for business and personal success?

Join us to shake-up traditional thinking about professional networking.

As professional communicators, networking is a ‘must do’ to extend our reach, influence and learning. But wouldn’t it be great if it was a ‘want to do’? Shifting perspectives on networking from tedious obligation to genuine enthusiasm is the catalyst for effective networking based in strong connections and enduring relationships. Few are better qualified to shake-up traditional thinking about professional networking and put you at ease than Cheryl Gray – CEO of Women’s Network Australia.

What you will learn

Taking you beyond the exchange of business cards and LinkedIn connections, to creating a richer personal and professional experience for you and those in your network – here’s an overview of what we’ll cover:

  • Expanding your network
  • Elevating your personal brand
  • Overcoming networking challenges and setbacks
  • Building relationships that last
  • Lessons learned about virtual networking.

This session is for those who get the importance of networking for career advancement, gaining advice and support and continual learning, who sometimes lack the will, time and confidence to reach out and connect with people we respect and admire.

About the speaker

Throughout her career as a journalist, in public affairs and running her own communication consultancy, Cheryl has developed a diverse network of contacts and is excited by the opportunity to share her knowledge and experience to help our members and guests shine.

Cheryl has a Bachelor of Business (Communication), along with international qualifications in communication measurement and evaluation. She is Board Deputy Chair of not-for-profit disability services organisation, MyHorizon, and is a former Treasurer and Management Committee member of Women’s Legal Service Queensland. She has previously held Board roles with the Queensland Paralympic Committee and the Moreton Bay Colleges Foundation.
