Weaving the Village: Community Circle
Event description
Weaving the Village: Community Circle
Tending to Our Inner Landscapes
***
The Offering
These days, we seem to have contact, but less connection. We may be in space with others, but feel we are unknown to one another.
As the days grow shorter and the air turns crisp, we approach the winter solstice — a time for reflection and connection. Weaving the Village: Community Circle offers a sacred opportunity to gather in community, and feel into the space between the joy – and grief – of the human experience.
This community circle holds space for those navigating the beauty and grief of being human. Whether it's the loss of a loved one, a life transition, or the sorrows of the world, your grief is welcome. Our time together will be thoughtfully structured to release and soothe the challenging emotions we carry through leaning into a state of support and joy. The offering will invite us to feel any loss that is present, celebrate what we are grateful for, and be within the rich connection of the community.
During the circle, we will engage in:
- Connection and sharing
- Movement and sound
- Writing & storytelling
- A soothing sound bath
- Feasting on nourishing snacks and drinks
Participation in all activities is invitational, honouring each individual's journey.
The Space
We have intentionally chosen Misty Ridge Retreat B & B for this gathering, recognizing that our connection to the earth allows us to fully embrace and tend to our grief. The natural beauty of this setting will support our process, providing a safe haven for vulnerability and healing. Our day will be spent in a magical yurt which has lovingly been named the "Sacred Dream Lodge" by local Blackfoot Elders. The space has been meticulously painted with representations of the animals of the Turtle Island origin story, the four directions and the archetypes found in the sacred tradition of the sweat lodge. The Sacred Dream Lodge lends itself naturally to holding gatherings for the healing and renewal of self and community.
This offering is limited to 12 participants to ensure an intimate and supportive atmosphere.
This event is a collaboration between Alexis Johnston of Lumina Sound & Wellness, and Chris Tulloch and Daria Soltysiak of Holdfast Grief Tending Collective.
