Shining a light on sibling support - parent OR adult sibling webinar recordings
Online Event
Event description
Siblings Australia were delighted to partner with Alicia Meneses Maples, award winning blogger, TEDx speaker and sibling, to co-host two webinars designed to “shine a light on siblings”. Alicia joined us from the US for both the parent and adult sibling webinars which were held in conversational style with a Q&A session for participants. Alicia and her co-hosts (Siblings Australia staff) addressed topics such as:
- Tips for ensuring your sibling child is seen and supported
- Things to look for – what are the signs your sibling child may be struggling
- What can be the flow on effects for sibling children in their adult relationships
- Recognition of medical trauma (vicarious witness trauma)
- Avoiding no-contact as your sibling child transitions into adulthood
- Addressing extreme co-dependence – setting parameters for healthy adult relationships
- You can’t heal what you don’t recognise
- How do I have the “future planning” conversation with my parents
- I’ve had to go no-contact – is there any going back?
- De-stigmatising therapy
- When is the right time to talk about my sibling experience with my parents?
- Recognising your past may leave you open to engaging in unhealthy relationships in your future
Webinar recordings are available to purchase individually or both recordings can be purchased at a discounted rate.
