A BIT ABOUT OUR JOURNEY
We’re super excited to have been selected to participate in the Shitbox Rally 2025 – Spring, taking us on an epic journey from Alice Springs to the Gold Coast. This uncle-and-niece duo is ready to hit the road in our trusty (and slightly dodgy) 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer with almost 400,000kms on the clock, raising funds for the Cancer Council and honoring the incredible legacies of two remarkable women, Lyndall and Judy.
Who We Are:
Richard: A truck driver from outback Queensland, no stranger to long roads and tough terrain.
Keerly: A registered nurse from regional NSW, dedicated to helping others and carrying the memories of her mum and grandma on this journey.
Together, we’re combining grit, determination, and a shared passion for making a difference in the fight against cancer. Why We’re Taking Part For us, this rally is deeply personal.
Lyndall: Lyndall was a cornerstone of her community, dedicated to disability work and aged care, with a laugh and smile that could brighten anyone’s day. She welcomed everyone with open arms, embodying generosity and kindness. After battling a large melanoma 15 years ago and ovarian cancer for three years, she passed away in May 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience.
Judy: Judy, a woman of faith and creativity, loved traveling across Australia, embracing the red dirt roads that we’ll be driving on during this rally. With iconic Scottish skin, she faced ongoing battles with basal and squamous cell carcinomas. Her life was further impacted by Alzheimer’s, and she passed away in May 2024, just two weeks after Lyndall.
This rally is our way of honoring their strength and fighting spirit while contributing to a cause that helps so many others facing cancer.
