We want to gather and revel in the true meaning of Pride.
Resistance is central to Queer culture but when organisations rely of government funding and corporate sponsorships, they are navigated according to those values.
A problematic example is “political neutrality”.
Under the guise of non-prejudice, our corporate queer organisations continue to invite the police and other troublesome entities in as allies. Further to that, none of them are taking a meaningful stance against the gen0cydal atrocities we see in this country and around the world. The cognitive dissonance of it all is a bit too much for us.

Having said that, we do not condone any behaviour that ostracises / harasses anyone who would like to continue working for or attending the mainstream festival.

We do encourage anyone with thoughts / feelings about the organisation to get in touch with them directly to give them your feedback.

Decolonise is a verb.
If we want to imagine a world and a community that we all feel proud to be part of, it’s our duty to do the work together.

We acknowledge that we live, work, create and party on stolen Aboriginal Land.

We acknowledge Elders past & present. We acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded and a treaty never signed.

We commit ourselves to dismantling the ongoing colonisation of this Land - not only in our words but in our actions eternally.
We also stand in staunch solidarity with the Land Back movements globally.

Always was and will be Aboriginal Land.
