Event description

Echidna Walk and Talk in Logan
Echidnas are one of Australia’s most unique and beloved animals - but in the Logan City Council region, we know very little about where they are or how many remain. This free citizen science event invites locals to help change that.

You’ll learn what signs to look for (scats, diggings) and about current research on this unique species.

This event is perfect for Land for Wildlife members, local landholders, nature lovers, and anyone curious about wildlife monitoring.

Why join us?

  • Learn practical skills in wildlife tracking

  • Be part of a pioneering local conservation project

  • Connect with other passionate locals

  • Help put echidnas on the map!

Let’s work together to protect this incredible species - starting here, in our own backyard.

IMPORTANT!

  • Please meet at the meeting location at 4pm. We will depart at 4:15pm. Please wear suitable footwear for walking. We will aim to stick to a flat path for the walks duration.

  • Please bring water and wear insect repellent.

This walk is hosted by The University of Queensland and Wildlife Queensland and made possible by a Logan City Council Enviro Grant.
