    Event description

Want to relieve shoulder tension and play your instrument with more freedom and ease?

Experience how your shoulder works from the inside-out and learn muscle release techniques in this online Franklin Method® workshop for musicians.

The Franklin Method® is a somatic method that teaches the fundamentals of healthy movement using embodied anatomy, gentle exercises, and mind-body techniques. It’s used all over the world in a wide variety of fields, including yoga, dance, Pilates, music, sports, and physical therapy.

As musicians, you can use the Franklin Method® to relieve tension, improve your body awareness, and actually change the way you move on a musculoskeletal level.

Here’s what you’ll learn in this 90 minute workshop:

    • Easy and effective exercises to relieve shoulder tension and reduce pain.
    • Explore the anatomy and biomechanics of the shoulder girdle using imagery and self-massage techniques.
    • Improve your body awareness.
    • How to find more ease while playing your instrument.
    • Anatomical and metaphorical imagery cues that you can incorporate into teaching your instrument.

Plus, you'll receive handouts and access to the video replay for 30 days after the workshop.
