Wondering why you should enter Victoria’s largest celebration of sustainability in schools - the ResourceSmart Schools Awards (RSS Awards)?
The 2026 School of the Year, Red Gum, has participated in the RSS Awards as a winner of the Student Action Team (2024) and Campus Infrastructure and Operations (2023) categories, as well as a finalist and stallholder. The school has showcased its waterway-focused curriculum initiatives, strong community engagement and partnerships with local organisations.
As a finalist in the Emerging School of the Year (Secondary) category and winner of the Middle Years category of the ResourceSmart Schools Photography Competition in 2025, Greater Shepparton Secondary College showcased its creative approach to sustainability through gamification and student-led campaigns at the Awards.
Red Gum has recently been recognised for its leadership within the program, achieving 5 Star certification, while Greater Shepparton Secondary College is rapidly building momentum and making a strong start to its sustainability journey.
