Shpilkis and Seattle Klezmer Project - Yiddish Dance Night
Description
Please join us for our third Yiddish Dance Night at The Black & Tan Hall, featuring a lesson with Maia Brown and live klezmer with Shpilkis and The Seattle Klezmer Project! Yiddish dance is joyous, expressive, communal, and very approachable for new dancers. We emphasize a dance culture that celebrates all ages, bodies, and genders!
Shpilkis will kick your tukhes right out of its seat with raucous, old-school Yiddish grooves. Combining the voices of six horns and one drummer, Shpilkis adds a new flavor to the tradition of Yiddish music, unique to 21st century Seattle. Shpilkis brings Yiddish party energy to every event!
The Seattle Klezmer Project is a regular occuring open klezmer jam session and Yiddish zingeray that sometimes coalesces into a community ensemble. They bring a joyous cacophony of horns, strings, accordions, drums, and more.
