The Shunpike Social Club summer course is here and we have an exciting summer ahead!

As ever, we welcome brass/reeds/guitars of all abilities (must have own instrument) and will provide samba-style percussion instruments for drummers of all abilities.

Oi Musica's lead musician Marcus Britton is back to lead the tuned instrument section alongside Sam Ward-Hardy (percussion) and we'll continue to build the confidence of all players in the run up to the summer gig season.

The focus for this course will be to use the best music from the Shunpike repertoire / back catalogue to build a confident show - and as ever, new players are very welcome!

We will also continue to build on the theme of movement, and the benefits that moving together as a group can have for individual skill development as well enhancing the quality of the ensemble.

There is no pressure whatsoever to perform with the band if you don't want to, but upcoming performance dates will include:

Saturday 1 June - Mayfield Gala Day (approx 1-4pm)

Saturday 22 June - Sea Rising Festival (approx 3-5pm)

And it's likely that other offers will come in too!

The course will run for 4 weeks, then a week off, then another 4 weeks (no session on Monday 27 May)
