INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

International Women's Day is celebrated in many countries around the world. It is a day when women are recognized for their achievements without regard to divisions, whether national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political.

This year’s theme “For ALL women and girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.” calls for action that can unlock equal rights, power and opportunities for all and a future where no one is left behind. Central to this vision is empowering the next generation—youth, particularly young women and adolescent girls—as catalysts for lasting change.

GUEST SPEAKER: Sakura Savelieva

Sakura is currently studying Town Planning at the University of Queensland. She is committed to creating sustainable and inclusive cities and is driven by the potential of urban planning to transform communities. Sakura was Humanitarian Affairs Asia Peace Summit Ambassador for the 4th Global Peace Summit. The Peace Summit of Emerging Leaders gives youth the tools to champion peace.

Raffle tickets at 3 for $5 will also be sold on the night to raise funds for SI Logan projects including SI Logan Bursaries and Care Packs for those affected by DFV and homelessness.
