Join the Space Industry Association of Australia and Bartier Perry for an insightful webinar exploring the evolving landscape of space governance.
As activity in space continues to expand across commercial, civil, and national security domains, the legal and regulatory frameworks shaping the sector are becoming increasingly important. This webinar will examine key issues in space governance, including international space law, commercial regulation, sustainability, and the policy challenges emerging from new technologies and uses of space.
The session will feature a moderated discussion with invited expert speakers and an audience Q&A.

Dr Kathryn Robison
Kathryn Robison is a Lecturer in American Studies at the United States Studies Centre and a Senior Research Fellow at the Australian Centre for Space Governance (ACSG). She holds a PhD in Political Science and specialises in political communication and its role in shaping US space policy at both domestic and international levels. Her research also spans public opinion, political behaviour, and the communication of emerging space issues. In collaboration with ACSG colleagues, she co-authored the first comprehensive survey of Australian public opinion on space. Kathryn is an active contributor to the global space community, serving with the International Astronautical Federation and participating in initiatives such as the UN Space4Women Network.
Dr. Rebecca Connolly
Dr Rebecca Connolly is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney Law School, where she leads the international space law research and teaching program. She is the 2025 McCain Fulbright Scholar at the United States Naval Academy and was the 2023 Thawley Scholar in International Security, focusing on space and national security policy. Dr Connolly is also Chief Executive Officer of the SpaceCyT Institute. Her research explores the intersection of strategy and legal governance in outer space, including commercialisation, militarisation, and security. She has guest lectured at Harvard University and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and holds a PhD and Master of Laws from the University of Sydney.
Jason Sprague
Jason Sprague is a Partner at Bartier Perry and a commercial, corporate and intellectual property lawyer with over 25 years’ experience. He advises on mergers and acquisitions, business structuring, IP commercialisation, and technology transactions across SMEs, multinational organisations, and government. His experience spans industries including manufacturing, biotechnology, IT, retail, and infrastructure, with a strong focus on delivering commercially pragmatic advice and creative solutions across the full business lifecycle. Jason has led complex cross-border transactions, ICT procurement, franchising matters, and large-scale trademark and licensing projects. He holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Science from Macquarie University and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and leading IP organisations.
