Description

SibWorks Online – Term 1 2027 Weeknight Program (Ages 8–12)

SibWorks Online is a five-week online group program for children aged 8–12 years who have a brother or sister with disability or chronic illness.

Delivered via Microsoft Teams, the program is run by a Siblings Australia counsellor who is also a trained SibWorks facilitator, providing a safe, supportive and well-structured experience for children and families.

🗓️ Program dates

Sessions run weekly on Thursdays, with each session lasting 40 minutes:

  • 18 February 2027

  • 25 February 2027

  • 4 March 2027

  • 11 March 2027

  • 18 March 2027

🕒 Session times in your location

  • WA (Perth time): 4:00–4:40 pm

  • NT: 5:30–6:10 pm

  • Queensland: 6:00–6:40 pm

  • SA and Broken Hill: 6:30–7:10 pm

  • NSW (excluding Broken Hill), ACT, Victoria and Tasmania: 7:00–7:40 pm

💻 How the online sessions work

Sessions are delivered live via Microsoft Teams.

After registering, families will receive:

  • A Teams meeting link sent to the email address used at checkout.

  • Simple instructions on how to join—no tech expertise needed!

📦 Program materials

A SibWorks program parcel will be posted to your child before the program begins. It includes all materials used across the sessions, clearly labelled by week.

👉 Please check that your postal address is correct when registering, so the parcel can arrive in time for the first session.

🌱 What children will gain

Through age-appropriate activities, discussion and connection, SibWorks supports children to:

  • Better understand disability and sibling experiences.

  • Develop positive coping strategies.

  • Understand and manage tricky feelings.

  • Feel less alone in their sibling role.

  • Build confidence and emotional resilience.

💰 Cost

  • Standard rate: $280 per child for the full five-week program.

  • Concession rate: $150 per child for the full five-week program.

👥 Group size and minimum registrations

Small, supported groups help children connect and receive individual attention:

  • Minimum: 4 children

  • Maximum: 6 children

If fewer than four children are registered by Thursday 28 January 2027—three weeks before the program begins—the workshop series will be cancelled.
