Switzerland's egg punx Autobahns come to sideway for a rock n roll good time. Joined by Sydney's most fun band Itchy & The Nits and Newcastle Slint-core Doris.
Initially the solo project of Ticino musician Julien Papen (Magüt Records, Leopardo, S.g.a.t.v, LFOFI, Spinal Patch, L.O.S), Autobahns is a rough mix of various contemporary underground lo fi punk music genres - egg punk, devocore, post punk, synth punk, garage punk... which he likes to call weirdpunk. Formerly Julien Papen and the Autobahns, the group is made up of musicians also members of the groups S.G.A.T.V., Sun Cousto, Leopardo, Shandy and The Vamp, Penkowski.
Over the past two years Sydney rockers Itchy & The Nits have taken out the title of THEE BEST GARAGE BAND in the city, putting shame to the countless crappy "surf garage punk" bands. They could probably beat half these bands in a fight too. Paisley shirts beware! 7 songs sure to get you movin' - if not BEAT IT BOZO.
5 piece shoe gaze/post-punk outfit Doris, operate on Awabakal and Wonnarua land (Newcastle, NSW). With inspirations such as Sonic Youth, Smashing Pumpkins, and many more inbetween, Doris find themselves visiting personal experiences in the lyrics whilst incorporating big, noisy guitars, with intriquite synth patterns.
