SIGGRAPH Melbourne Reboot Meeting

Dear Creative and Technical Professionals,

We're inviting the artists, technologists, educators, and students in and around Melbourne to be part of reviving our local SIGGRAPH chapter.

SIGGRAPH has long been a hub for innovation in computer graphics, animation, VFX, gaming, immersive media, and interactive technologies.
It's provided a platform for exchanging ideas, showcasing work, and fostering industry connections.
Recently, our local SIGGRAPH presence has faded, leaving a real gap.

Why Reboot SIGGRAPH in Melbourne?

Melbourne is a digital innovation hub, home to world-class VFX studios, game developers, animation houses, research institutions, and independent creatives. By re-establishing our SIGGRAPH chapter, we aim to:

1. Create a community where professionals and students can connect, share knowledge, and collaborate.
2. Host engaging events, from industry talks to workshops and networking opportunities.
3. Showcase local talent and projects, giving artists and technologists a platform.
4. Bridge academia and industry, helping students and researchers engage with professionals.
5. Keep Melbourne on the global stage by bringing international SIGGRAPH content and expertise to our local community.

Our first step is to gauge interest and set up an initial gathering to discuss the vision for the chapter.
