Silent Dove Apocalypse - Opening

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

The Silent Dove Apocalypse exhibition features jewellery designs constructed of premium materials such as lapis lazuli, citrine, carnelian, rose quartz, amethyst, and freshwater pearls. Each piece is a one-off couture design and is hand-crafted over many painstaking hours as each individual bead is set on wire. Unique fabrics such as segments of a 1930s wedding dress that belonged to the designer's grandmother have been preserved in resin beads and integrated into the complex designs. Some of the larger harness-style pieces evoke theatrical elements making them suitable for film, stage or fashion. The jewellery design series explores feminist themes around female identity and our hidden and seen faces.

The Good Shepherd Convent Gallery in the renowned Abbotsford Convent arts precinct are proud to host this exhibition in support of Good Shepherd’s family violence services. Exhibition ticket proceeds will be donated Good Shepherd to assist women and children escaping domestic violence.
