Event description

I’m so glad you are able to join me for this workshop!

Over 3 hours we will create Christmas-themed stamps that you will carve from lino. You can use your designs to create Christmas tree decorations, cards or art. Your designs can be as serious or silly as you like.

The idea is, if everyone is happy to share their designs, everyone can also go home with a pack of cards.

What to expect:

  • You will be given a 9 x 15cm piece of lino. You can use the time to create one detailed piece, or 2 smaller pieces. We will then stamp your designs onto paper or cards.

  • You will be guided on how to use lino carving tools and printmaking inks to create your own unique design that you will want to frame! The nature of my classes is quite intimate (only 6 students per class) and I will be teaching and guiding you throughout the class.

  • You will sketch your ideas and I will show you how to transfer them onto the lino plate

  • Once you have carved your stamps, we will then print your designs onto paper or card so you have pieces to take home.

  • The intention of this class is to get you to wind down and tap into your creativity before the silly season kicks off.
  • No prior experience necessary, all you will need is enthusiasm and a fun attitude.

BYO refreshments. If you choose to BYO alcohol, please be responsible and limit your consumption to 2 drinks as we are using sharp lino cutting tools and you will likely be driving home. The focus is on the art.

Please arrive at 5:30pm and we will start the class by 5:45pm. We will finish the class by 8:45pm.

Getting there:

Stackwood is located on the corner of Stack and Wood Streets, Fremantle (White Gum Valley). Please park in the main carpark if there is room, or on the street. From the carpark, walk down the left side of the building and access via the side door.

This class is for 18+ students only.
