Naarm/Melbourne artist and producer Simona Castricum brings her fifth studio album, Villain, to Walyalup as part of her 2026 Australian tour, joined by Moth Dust, Oosterbanger and Hayley Beth at Buffalo Club.

Out 4 September via Castricum's own imprint Trans-Brunswick Express (T-BE), Villain pushes her collision of post-punk, electronic music, dream-pop and synth-wave into something bigger and more physical. Led by singles ‘Rupture’, ‘Outgrown’ and ‘Say Less’, the album was developed through Castricum's live performances with drummer Anetta Nevin, built around the exchange between drums, guitar, voice and electronics.

Performing live as a duo with Anetta Nevin on drums, Villain was produced by Castricum, with vocal production by Sui Zhen, drums engineered by Jonnine Nokes (Screensaver) and mixing by Los Angeles producer Jorge Elbrecht (Wild Nothing, Tamaryn, Sky Ferreira, Japanese Breakfast).

Castricum describes Villain as a response to political and relational projection: songs about relationships, personal and political, intimate and ideological, and the stories people construct about one another.
