11th October - Eastern Lounge celebrates the Divinyls!

After a great first show to re-launch Eastern Lounge in September, this month we pay tribute to one of the great Aussie Rock bands. Who can forget the alluring Chrissy Amphlett, daringly dressed in school uniform and fishnet stockings, fronting the awesome Divinyls as they enthralled audiences in pubs across the land?

On Friday October 11 we present SIMPLY DIVINYLS - Australia’s best salute to that amazing band.

With 25 singles and 5 of the best-selling albums of the 1980s and ‘90s on which to draw, SIMPLY DIVINYLS brings you a truly memorable night, recreating an authentic tribute to one of the greats. This exceptional six-piece band recreates the distinctive sounds of the Divinyls, notably Chrissy Amphlett’s torched vocals. An unparallelled display of all the energy and raw Rock you would expect in a Divinyls show, ensures you’ll be on your feet and singing along, all night long!

Simply Divinyls delivers all your favourite Divinyls hits, from ‘Boys In Town’ and ‘Pleasure and Pain’ to ‘I Touch Myself’, ‘Good Die Young’, ‘Back to the Wall’, ‘Science Fiction’, ‘Sleeping Beauty’, ‘I’ll Make You Happy’ and many, many more.

No prefabricated music or backing tracks as some other tribute bands do. Everything you’ll hear is played 100% live, by the musicians on stage.

Opening the show is the appropriately named, Pub Crawl. With a set list including Mondo Rock’s ‘Come Said The Boy’, The Mentals’ ‘The Nips Are Getting Bigger’, the Hoodoo Gurus’ ‘What’s My Scene’ and Daddy Cool’s ‘Eagle Rock’ (for all the Manly fans!), you’ll be taken back in time to when Oz Rock ruled, almost sensing the aroma of stale beer in the air and that once experienced, never forgotten feeling of your shoes sticking to an imagined carpet beneath your feet.
