For more than 25 years, I’ve worked as a singer-songwriter, musical director and facilitator, bringing tens of thousands of people to their voices across more than 20 countries. My work explores the place where music, creativity and wellbeing meet — creating spaces where people can experience singing not as performance, but as a powerful pathway to joy, connection and coming home to themselves is my passion.

What makes Sing in Spring a little different is the meeting place between science and spirit.

For many years, I’ve been fascinated by the way melody, lyrics and the human voice can shape how we feel, what we believe and even the stories we tell ourselves. I’ve studied the science of singing — what happens in our brains and bodies when we breathe, vocalise, harmonise and sing together — and I’ve spent a lifetime experiencing something that science can’t always quite put into words: the spirit of singing.

This workshop brings those two worlds together.

We’ll explore the voice not simply as an instrument for making music, but as a powerful pathway to wellbeing, connection, creativity and self-expression. We’ll play with harmony, vibration, lyrics and melody, and experience what can happen when we consciously use the instrument we were born with.

And somewhere in between, magic happens.

Brief Bio Corinne Gibbons Starr

Artist • Composer • Musical Director • Educator • Producer • Humanitarian

For over three decades, Corinne has followed music as both compass and calling, creating work at the intersection of creativity, belonging and human connection. An award-winning Australian artist, composer and musical director, she is recognised internationally for using music not just as entertainment, but as a catalyst for healing, education and social change.

Her journey has taken her from studios and concert halls to remote villages, classrooms and global summits. She has collaborated with an extraordinary range of artists, including Phil Collins, members of Michael Jackson’s ensembles, Ray Charles, James Taylor, Bette Midler, Linda Ronstadt, Stevie Wonder, Roberta Flack and Justin Timberlake. By twenty-four, she had toured with Jack Sonni of Dire Straits, performed with The Count Basie Big Band and recorded with Tower of Power.

Following the release of We’ve Only Just Begun, Linda Ronstadt praised Corinne’s “incredible vocal musicianship and sex appeal”—an early recognition of a voice that continues to resonate worldwide.

Beyond the traditional stage, Corinne’s work finds its deepest expression. Her award-winning multimedia project Melt, created with National Geographic, explores humanity’s relationship with the natural world. Honoured with a UK World Peace Award and multiple international film awards, it has invited thousands into a more compassionate connection with themselves and the Earth.

A lifelong environmental advocate, Corinne continues to weave creativity and conservation. In 2022 she co-composed the World Water Day anthem with The Sisters Grimm, inviting children across Australia to contribute artwork, reflecting her belief that every child deserves a voice in shaping the future.

This vision reached the global stage at COP28 in Dubai 2023, where she directed one of the world’s largest children’s climate choirs for Youth 4 Planet—bringing together young voices as a powerful reminder that children are not just future leaders, but voices of today.

As a pioneer in creative education, Corinne has spent decades helping young people discover confidence through authentic expression. Through her program Search for the Sparkle, thousands of children have explored songwriting and self-expression while documenting their childhood through music. Her work was recently recognised with a World Education Elets Award shortlist 2025.

Her creative reach extends across theatre and children’s entertainment, composing for icons such as Hi-5 and Humphrey B. Bear, and writing music for three successful musicals in Singapore performed to over 150,000 children.

As founder of Discover Your Voice, Corinne has guided more than 50,000 people worldwide through transformational musical experiences. From corporations to schools and communities, she helps individuals and groups discover the power of collective voice, transforming shared values into songs that endure.

Her audiobook, 10 Reasons Why Singing is Freedom, has gained international attention for its deeply human approach, blending neuroscience, lived experience and musical insight to remind us that the voice is a pathway home.

Service is woven through her work. She has supported organisations including Caring for Cambodia, Tabitha Cambodia, St Jude’s Africa, The Island Foundation Indonesia, The Little Dreams Foundation Switzerland, Mendaki Singapore, Over the Rainbow Singapore and One Mob Dreaming Choir Australia.

During seven years with The Island Foundation, Corinne worked with the Orang Laut people of Indonesia, helping children preserve culture, language and story through song. She has also worked with First Nations communities in Australia and Indigenous communities in Canada, honouring the wisdom music carries across generations.

Whether before thousands or in a circle of children, Corinne is guided by a simple belief: every person carries a unique song, and when we create spaces safe enough to share it, music becomes more than sound, it becomes a bridge between hearts, cultures and the future we are creating together.
