    Event description

This program was inspired by the profoundly beautiful sentiment composer Daniel De Togni explores with his piece “Sing Me Into Singing.”

From De Togni’s piece description and dedication:

"From the time you were very little, you've had people who have smiled you into smiling, people who have talked you into talking, sung you into singing, loved you into loving." -Fred Rogers

“This piece is dedicated to the people that raised us, sacrificed for love, and taught us right from wrong, if not with us, then wherever they are.”

This assortment of music holds countless memories for me, spanning many years of growth in my life and musical journey. Memories of those who’ve shared their love for music with me through these pieces, those who I’ve shared this music with, and the connections and transformations we’ve made along the way. And though I’ve never met many of those who composed this music, I also feel I’ve been taught so much by this deeply affecting, brilliant, fun, and eclectic set of their creations.
