The Sacred Music Project Presents: An Intimate Evening with Darshan
Join us for a deeply immersive musical experience as Darshan shares songs from their two groundbreaking albums: RAZA, a radical reimagining of the mystical poetry of Kabbalat Shabbat, and SONGS FROM THE VOID, a cycle of songs inspired by the paradigm-shifting teachings of Rebbe Nachman of Breslov.
Featuring the extraordinary talents of Basya Schechter and Eden Pearlstein, this evening promises to be a soulful journey through sound, spirit, and sacred text. They will be joined by an incredible ensemble of musicians: Micha Gilad, Yoshie Fruchter, and Shai Wetzer, each bringing their own unique artistry to this sacred collaboration.
Basya Schechter is a creative force in Jewish music, known for her work with Pharaoh’s Daughter, the Songs of Wonder project, and her role as a Hazzan for the Romemu community in NYC. Her music weaves together global influences, bringing ancient traditions into the present with breathtaking depth and beauty.
Eden Pearlstein is a poet, performer, and co-founder of Ayin Press. With an eclectic portfolio spanning 12 albums, poetry collections, and curatorial projects, Eden’s work explores the intersections of language, rhythm, and mystical insight.
Together as Darshan, Basya and Eden create a genre-defying fusion of Poetic/Rap Commentary and Musical Midrash, breathing new life into ancient Hebrew and Aramaic texts. Their sound is a truly unique form of Sacred Pop Art—one that samples, remixes, and transforms Jewish teachings into an electrifying and deeply moving experience.
With the masterful accompaniment of Micha Gilad, Yoshie Fruchter, and Shai Wetzer, this evening will be an unforgettable exploration of melody, rhythm, and mysticism.
We invite you to step into this sacred space of song, poetry, and prayer, where tradition and innovation meet in a powerful artistic dialogue.
