Event description

ALICE NIGHT, PURDIE WOOD

Doors 7pm

Music 8pm

Join Australian artists Alice Night and Purdie Wood for a night of intimate, mesmerising folk and original music.

Each of these artists has a voice that touches the unseen realms and connects audiences to their hearts, their feelings and the wild earth and cosmos.

You’ll be invited to drop-in, get comfy and receive the magic of the songs at the gorgeous Hatch Court barn, a well-loved space for eclectic, unique musical nights, familiarly referred to as ‘Mark Arnold’s place.’

Tickets are sliding scale, by choosing the higher tier you are assisting these three artists to tour, and thus bring this nourishing music to you.

*If money is a struggle at the moment, you can reach out and help out with the night in another way.

Together Night and Wood sing haunting ballads, wordless songs and intimate original and traditional folk songs, woven with hypnotic guitar parts, the bodhrán drum and harmonies.

NightWood create an experience in which the audience can soften, feel, and lean into parts of themselves that can often be neglected in modern life.

They bring moments of spontaneous, lilting vocals in which their two voices together open up a sonic world that invites the audience into the mystery of the unseen.

With ritualistic synergy, Night, a long time recording and performing artist joins with Wood, steeped in ancestral songs from the land and a voice developed in medicinal contexts. These two realms marry and merge effortlessly as they share the stage.

Their live shows have an undertone of subtle humour and are an ode to friendship as told through song and harmony. NightWood explore themes of grief, connection to the animistic and mytho-poetic, and the richest realms of life; love and beauty.
