Singing Voice 1 with Martha Bernard - EOT Sharing

Join Martha Bernard’s Singing Voice 1 for an end-of-term sharing featuring students’ work. Singing Voice 1 helps actors free, develop, and strengthen the voice as an expressive instrument. Through relaxation, breath work, body awareness, and vocal exercises, students build greater ease, range, flexibility, pitch, rhythm, and confidence. This sharing may include group and individual exercises and songs from a variety of genres, with an accompanist.

About Martha Bernard
Martha Bernard helps students discover greater freedom in both the body and voice by integrating principles of the Alexander Technique with breath work, movement, and vocal exercises. Her teaching emphasizes communication, ensemble support, and the development of a singing voice that feels as natural and expressive as speaking.

She is certified by the Matthews School for the Alexander Technique and the Institute for the Alexander Technique and is a member of AmSAT. Her performance credits include the Opera Orchestra of New York, Teatro Lirico Sperimentale di Spoleto, the National Grand Opera, New Jersey State Opera, and the Juilliard Choral Singers. She has taught at NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Playwrights Horizons Theater School, the Open Center, and other institutions.
