Single-Cell RNA-Seq Analysis using R (May 2024)

Price FREE – $350 AUD Get tickets

Event description

Analysis and interpretation of single cell RNAseq (scRNA-Seq) data requires dedicated workflows. In this hands-on workshop we will show you how to perform single cell analysis using Seurat - an R package for QC, analysis, and exploration of single-cell RNA-Seq data.

We will discuss the ‘why’ behind each step and cover reading in the count data, quality control, filtering, normalisation, clustering, UMAP layout and identification of cluster markers. We will also explore various ways of visualising single cell expression data.

FAQs

What should I bring into the event?

This is an online workshop, so you will need to provide your own computer and have access to a reliable internet connection sufficient for video conferencing. A second monitor is highly recommended.

What prior experience do I need?

Participants should have a basic understanding of single cell RNA-Seq technology. Prior expertise with R is required to a level equivalent to that provided by the R for Reproducible Scientific Analysis workshop, as the basics of R will not be covered.

Who should attend?

Life scientists planning or running single cell RNA-Seq experiments (or mining public data) who want to perform their own analyses.

How can I contact the organiser with any questions?

You can email training@qcif.edu.au

What's the cancellation policy?

Cancellations are accepted up to three working days before the start of the workshop. If you do not join on the day without having cancelled beforehand, you may be blocked from attending any future QCIF training workshops.
