Hearts of Darkness [HxD] and Liquid Architecture [LA] are proud to co-present a one-night-only performance by Sipaningkah, the performance alias of Aldo Ahmad -- an emerging force in Southeast Asia’s experimental music scene.

A Jakarta-based improviser, sound artist, and instrument builder from Minangkabau heritage, Sipaningkah creates dense, trance-like sonic worlds that bridge tradition and invention. His recent release Langkah Suruik fuses folk textures with avant-noise structures, invoking both ancestral rhythm and speculative sound design. The result is raw, immersive, and evocative -- a music that pulses between histories and futures.

Trained in percussion and composition at leading Indonesian institutions, Ahmad is also a key organiser within DIY and experimental scenes in Sumatra and Java. His work spans electroacoustic composition, sound installations, theatre and film scores, and community-led music initiatives -- including Pasamoan Art Initiated and Kombo Improvisation Lab.

This event marks the Perth debut of Sipaningkah, and the first local collaboration between LA and HxD' exploratory imprint Echoes…. Expect a night of resonant textures, rhythmic complexity, and deep listening -- alongside a selection of cutting edge experimental and exploratory artists, featuring:
