In this SIRF Common Interest Work Group, we are asking attendees to bring and share their company's Employee Suggestion System
In LEAN one of the most important Wastes to eliminate is the loss of untapped human potential of the entire workplace.
Good Suggestion Schemes can be a very effective part of eliminating this waste of human potential.
Good Suggestion Schemes help motivate employees to come up with ideas and easily bring forward those ideas to improve their workplace. They also have a means to provide the employees with the necessary help and resources to implement the ideas. Good Suggestion Schemes not only improve the business performance but when done well, can also have a dramatic beneficial effect on the workplace culture.
However, the Seasoned Continuous Improvement leaders know that a poorly functional employee suggestion system is WORSE than none at all. We've all heard the stories of great suggestions sitting un-implemented, costing millions in lost opportunities. But worse than that is a de-motivated workforce who then won't participate anymore.
In this SIRF workshop , we will be asking for attendees to share their employee suggestion systems.
We will also have the chance to discuss things like:
- How to encourage good ideas
- How to capture all ideas
- How to communicate effectively when ideas are going ahead
- How to communicate effectively when ideas are NOT going ahead and explain WHY
- How to empower the team to implement their own ideas
- How to support with resources needed to execute
- How to share the success
- How to effectively reward and recognize the ideas when implemented
Come along , even if you don't yet have something to share but want to learn from what others are doing and talk with those doing it. This peer to peer learning is what SIRF does best!
