Afnan Siddique - Robotics, Vision, and Simulation Engineer.  Bosch Australia Manufacturing Solutions

Afnan is a dynamic engineer who has rapidly established himself as a leader in the field of digital twin technology. He was named the "Young Manufacturer of the Year" at the 2024 award ceremony for the Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame.  While still pursuing his Mechanical Engineering degree at Swinburne University, Afnan joined Bosch Australia Manufacturing Solutions in 2021 and immediately began making significant contributions. His breakthrough came when he developed a software stack for BAMS’ first physics-based Digital Twin Architecture. This innovative solution enabled virtual commissioning of machines before they even reached customers' manufacturing sites, streamlining operations, and dramatically reducing lead times.
With a solid foundation in software development and experience in commissioning robots, vision systems, PLCs, and HMIs, Afnan has been instrumental in driving advancements in digital twin and simulation technologies. His expertise has been valuable in helping Victorian manufacturers integrate cutting-edge solutions that enhance productivity and efficiency.
Under Afnan’s leadership, simulation has become a standard design validation method at BAMS. His achievements underscore his commitment to pushing the boundaries of digital twin technology and his ability to deliver real-world benefits to manufacturers.
