Sister Funk at Argos Warehouse
Event description
On Sunday, February 23, SISTER FUNK will take the stage at Argos Warehouse as a fundraiser for the Ithaca Pride Alliance! Al ticket sales and additional donations will be donated directly to the Ithaca Pride Alliance.Â
Sister Funk is a rock-country, folk-pop band based in New Haven, CT, whose electrifying performances have captivated audiences nationwide for nearly 20 years. This all-queer-women band has shared the stage with legends like Melissa Etheridge, the B-52s, Foreigner, and ZZ Top, and their song "Gone" topped Sirius Out Q charts for 15 consecutive weeks. Their funk-rock influenced brand of commercial pop has been described by The Advocate as “fresh, feel good, music with an edge." Tracks off their 4 indie releases have been nominated and won many distinguished awards: New England Music Awards Best of CT, Advocate’s reader’s poll Best Funk, Best Rock and Best New Band, RightOutTv awards Best Rock; and recently they signed synchronized licensing deals with MTV, Bravo, NASCAR, and the Discovery Channel/TLC. Their song, "This American Life," off their latest release "Wings To Fly" received honorable mention for Best Freedom Song in the Washington Songwriters Awards. "You need to see them live, the synergy is contagious", according to OUT magazine. Experience Sister Funk for yourselves! No show is ever the same and you are guaranteed to get caught up in their vibe.
