Event description

Join us for an exclusive NAWIC members-only site visit to BRANZ’s brand-new, world-leading Fire Laboratory—Aotearoa’s only facility capable of testing multi-storey buildings in realistic fire scenarios.

You’ll learn about BRANZ - who they are and what they do - and explore parts of a purpose-built 2,300 m² laboratory - including the fire lab, structure lab, and the materials lab.

The lab was officially unveiled in June this year, and will be fully operational by the end of 2025. It places New Zealand at the forefront of fire safety science, enabling full-scale fire testing previously unavailable in Australasia.

This is a rare opportunity to see where cutting-edge fire testing meets practical building safety solutions. Ideal for engineers, architects, building professionals, policymakers, or anyone interested in the science behind fire resilience.

Huge thanks to BRANZ for offering us this opportunity!
