Description
Join us for an exclusive site visit to the new MPI Plant Health & Environment Capability (PHEC) facility under construction at the Mount Albert Research Centre.
This major biosecurity project will deliver a 10,500m² specialist laboratory, greenhouse, quarantine and workplace facility, doubling MPI's capacity to process imported plant material. Detailed design was approved in May 2025, construction commenced in June 2025, and the facility is expected to be operational in early 2029.

PPE Required: gloves, safety glasses, high vis clothing, hard hats and steelcap footwear.
Accessibility: This is an active construction site with uneven surfaces, stairs, ladders, and scaffold access. Attendees must be physically able to move around the site safely, including walking for up to 30 minutes, navigating uneven ground, and using stairs while wearing full PPE.
Parking: No onsite parking available. Please allow time to find street parking nearby on Hampstead Road or Euston Road.
Public Transport: Accessible via AT bus routes including 66 and 67A.
