Skanda Shashti 2026 | Lord Murugan Celebration – Gold Coast
Description
🪔 Skanda Shashti 2026 – Lord Murugan Celebration
Skanda Shashti is a sacred Hindu festival honouring Lord Murugan, also known as Lord Kartikeya, Skanda and Subramanya, the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Shakthi.
According to Hindu tradition, Lord Murugan defeated the demon Surapadman after six days of battle. This victory, celebrated as Soorasamharam, symbolises the triumph of good over evil, wisdom over ignorance and courage over fear.
Celebrated through prayer, fasting and temple worship, Skanda Shashti inspires devotees to practise faith, humility, compassion and self-discipline.
Known as Murugan in South India and Kartikeya in North India, the Lord unites devotees through a shared spiritual heritage and the universal message of righteousness and peace.
🌺 Special Invitation – Little Bala Murugan
We warmly invite children aged 10 years and under to attend the celebration dressed as Bala Murugan (young Lord Murugan).
This is a wonderful opportunity for our little ones to connect with Hindu traditions and celebrate their cultural and spiritual heritage.
Parents are kindly requested to indicate this during RSVP registration.
