    Event description

     (very exJoin us 18 - 20 October for a weekend of fascinating talks, walks and workshops to explore the agricultural history and heritage of the Iveragh peninsula in South Kerry.

    Friday 18 October

    11-15.00: Siúl agus Gaeilge leis an Kerry Cowboy (Séaghan Ó Súilleabháin) agus Aoibheann Lambe *as Gaeilge*
    Meet at Cahersiveen Library (V23 H523) and take an archaeological stroll around Cahersiveen. Tá an tsiúlóid seo oiriúnach do dhaoine le gach leibhéal Gaeilge. People with all levels of Irish welcome.

    15.30-16.45: Mythology - placenames and stories with Daragh Smyth (author of Earthing the Myths) and Aoibheann Lambe

    19.30-21.30: Lorcán Mac Mathúna - Concert in Ballinskelligs

    Saturday 19 October

    10-18.00: Kerry County Museum hands-on replica artefact display with Claudia Kohler
    Ionad na Dromoda (V23 RK10) all day - pop in any time

    10.30 - 14.00: Transhumance and the Making of Ireland’s Uplands with Eugene Costello *as Gaeilge agus as Béarla - In Irish and English*

    Meeting at Ionad na Dromoda (V23 RK10) to car pool to walk site. This is an outdoor event - suitable clothing, waterproofs, drinks and snacks required. Tá an tsiúlóid seo oiriúnach do dhaoine le gach leibhéal Gaeilge. People with all levels of Irish welcome.

    12.00 - 18.00: Feirmeoireacht mar a bhí sé - Old farming ways with Mike Sé *as Gaeilge - in Irish*
    Ionad na Dromoda (V23 RK10) all day - pop in any time for a chat and to view Mike’s collections. Mike is a native Irish speaker who is knowledgeable about the old ways of farming and ways of life. Bí ag caint leis as Gaeilge!

    14.30 - 15.30: Archaeology Workshop for children with Áine Brosnan
    Ionad na Dromoda (V23 RK10) Children must be accompanied by an adult.

    15.30 - 17.00: Experimental Archaeology Workshop for children and adults in Irish and English with Aoibheann Lambe and Helen Richmond *as Gaeilge agus as Béarla - In Irish and English* Dromid Centre / Brú na Dromoda(V23 RK10). All l ages welcome - Children must be accompanied by an adult

    17.30 - 19.00 Dinner in the Dromid Centre / Brú na Dromoda - Vegetarian and Meat options with or without dessert and complementary Foraged Food Tasters with wild porcini ! An easy going sit down dinner in a lovely dining house - a chance to relax, catch up and make new friends

    20.00 - 21.00: Rooted in History: How an Irish Tree Unveils Ancient Migrations. Dromid Centre / Brú na Dromoda (V23 RK10) a talk about the dawn of agriculture in Ireland

    21.00 - 22.00: Story Telling with Terri Ryan
    Ionad na Dromoda (V23 RK10) listen to some farming stories and feel free to share your own!

    22.00 - 23.00: Archaeo-Astrophography with Davy Patton
    Ionad na Dromoda (V23 RK10) If the weather permits, this will include an outdoor workshop

    Sunday 20 October

    10.00 - 12.30: Farming on Valentia Island with Dr Eoin O’Neill
    Valentia Island - location will be sent to ticket holders. This is a weather permitting outdoor walk.

    12.00 - 15.00 Bronze Casting Demonstration with Holger Lönze and Billy Mag Fhloinn
    Portmagee - location will be shared with ticket holders. This will be a mix of demonstration, folklore and archaeology.

    14.00 - 16.00 Labhair leis na Gabhair - le Seán Ó Laoghaire (Seán the Seanchaí). *as Gaeilge agus as Béarla - In Irish and English*

    Cuairt do dtí Seán agus na gabhair - iontach! A visit to Sean and his goats. Bigí ag caint leis na gabhair as Gaeilg!. Talk away in Irish to the goats!

    17.00 - 18.00: Patrick Murphy’s Folk Museum Tour
    Castlecove - Location will be shared with ticket holders.

    18.00 - 20.00: Rock Art and 'Witches Marks' Aoibheann Lambe
    Castlecove - Patrick Murphy’s folk museum. Location will be shared with ticket holders for this outdoor walk.

    18.00-21.00: Festival Wind Down
    Staigue Fort House in Castlecove V93 FA36 - Join us for a cuppa or a pint and a chat!
