Skellig Coast Dark Sky Festival 2025

Our fourth ever Skellig Coast Dark Sky Festival taking place along the Skellig Coast in Co Kerry in the south-west of Ireland from 27–30 March 2025 - astronomy talks, stargazing, events in Irish, family friendly events, archaeo-astronomy. This is an early bird ticket and the price is valid up to and including 31 January 2025 - weekend tickets are €50 from 1 February. 

We have so many diverse, festive, education and universal events lined up, we are starting the festival on Thursday 27 March. There will also be astronomy in the schools in the week leading up to the festival. Among our events is a lecture by astrophysicist Prof Paul Callanan in the otherworldly setting of the Valentia Slate Quarry on Valentia Island; an
archaeo-astronomy visit to prehistoric petroplyphs with archaeologist Aoibheann Lambe; a Friday night concert organized by Éigse na hAoine
whose lineup has been exclusively live original music by Ireland's leading traditional music composers and performers; astronomy talks and,
weather permittingm, stargazing with expert astronomy guides; astgrophotography workshop with Davy Patton; an astrophotography exhibition; a talk on astronomer Agnes Mary Clerke by Finola Finlay (of Roaringwaterjournal.com); talks on the folklore of astronomy in areas within eastern Europe, the Middle East and also in Ireland; a book reading by author of the Light Thieves Helena Duggan and a talk on the effects of light on our health by lighting engineer Willie Duggan; wildlife and the dark skies; art workshops for adults and children; a parade.
