11:00am - 12:30pm AWST / 1:00pm - 2:30pm AEST

Welcome to SkillGym by Skills of the Modern Age.

Each week we bring you a 90-minute online workout to keep your innovation skills sharp as we create the future of work together.

In this SkillGym workout, we'll explore an often-overlooked aspect of the design process which we've found to be crucial; framing and defining your design challenge. After our empathy and discovery work to better understand a problem, and before we come up with creative new solutions, we need to land on a succinct problem definition that captures our insights about the issue at hand - the trouble is, it's much harder than it sounds.

This session will uncover the way our framing of a design challenge carves out the acceptable solution space, and how this process can often smuggle in our own assumptions and biases and cut us off from potentially powerful solutions. We'll explore new approaches for deliberately and mindfully defining a problem, and how to effectively reframe when we get stuck.

We can't wait to see you online soon!

Join the future skills movement.
