Welcome to the Canterbury Charity Hospital’s free Skin Check Day - a volunteer-based initiative to identify skin cancer in low-income adults over the age of 50 years.
New Zealand has the highest incidence of skin cancer in the world. Some skin cancers can be fatal and early detection and treatment is very important to offer the best cure rate.
A group of local dermatologists and other health professionals are offering their expertise to do the skin checks.
No treatment will be performed on the day, so it is essential that patients are registered with a General Practitioner or Medical Centre for follow up.
THE SKIN CHECK DAY IS FOR PEOPLE AGED 5O AND OVER WHO COMPLETE THE DECLARATION AT THE END OF THE REGISTRATION PROCESS.
Registration is limited to ONE per person.
