Event description

Slow Grind Fever returns to Gadigal Country on Saturday November 29th for SLOW GRIND FEVER SYD #3: 1954-1984 B.Y.O. / D.I.Y. WAREHOUSE PARTY.

Richie1250 (Stone Love, PBS FM) heads north once again with another mountain of antique vinyl discs and the hardest working smoke machine in showbiz. Enter the smokey dreamland and take a chronological trip through finger snapping rhythm 'n' blues, smoochy sweet soul, jazzy popcorn, druggy disco, adults-only AOR, languid lovers rock, nymphomantic new wave and all manner of uncategorizable moody melters, from the mid 50s to the mid 80s and back again, with special guest sets from DJs BOOBOO MUCK and JANE FONDUE, plus a special live performance from New York City heartthrob SMOOTA, slipping away from his duties playing trombone and keys for TV ON THE RADIO to bring us a set of his sultriest songs.

It's a DIY / BYO affair, so bring what you need.

NOTES:

- Location is in the inner west, ticket holders will be sent address on the morning of the dance.

- There will be a smoke machine going all night and it will get very smokey. The smoke is non-toxic but if you ain't into smoke machines this might not be the party for you...

- The dancefloor at Slow Grind events is for dancing. If you need to use your phone or have an extended conversation with somebody, please do it over in the hallway or go outside and get some fresh air. (We don't mind you taking a quick photo or video to post up later on, but standing in the middle of the dancefloor staring down at your phone is poor Slow Grind etiquette)

- The vibe of the night is very hazy and sultry, but the vibe is also about having good manners. Don't be all up in someone's personal space if they aren't inviting you.
