Slow Motion presents: Harry Charles (live)

Slow Motion returns to XCHC with a live set from Harry Charles (AKL).

Harry Charles is an Auckland producer who spent several years in Berlin, and the German city's organic house and downtempo scene left its fingerprints all over his music.

Someone on the dancefloor at our last event said it best: every track is what usually gets played at the end of the night. End of night tracks all night long. That’s a big part of the DNA of Slow Motion events. Beautiful, fluffy music, without any sharp edges. Like a warm and cozy hug.

We keep it below 115 BPM throughout the night, weaving musical journeys from downtempo, organic/melodic house, into break, trip hop, cumbia, lofi, ambient and beyond.

The magic lies in what happens between the beats, encouraging dancers to get curious how their bodies want to respond and move to the melody and rhythm. Slow doesn't mean low energy - quite the opposite, our acts always bring a scintillating and novel kind of energy. The energy of the tortoise rather than the hare.
