Slow Stitching with Stella Robertson
Thursday 8 October 2026, 10am-4pm
Cost: $210.00 per person excluding GST
Maximum: 10 participants

Slow down, take a breather and enjoy the simple pleasure of stitching by hand. Using the humble running stitch in all sorts of creative ways, Stella will guide you through a gentle, meditative day of making.
Slow stitching isn't about racing to finish a grand project. The real achievement is taking time out, finding a comfortable rhythm and getting out of your head and into your hands. It's accessible, relaxing and suitable for all ages and levels of experience - even total beginners.
All materials are provided, including an eco-printed base fabric, a vintage wooden spool, assorted fabrics, lace, buttons, needles, thread and scissors. Add good food, afternoon cheese and wine, and you've got a rather lovely day on Bruny.
About Stella Robertson
Stella lives on Bruny Island and has loved fabric, yarn, needles and thread for as long as she can remember. Her creative repertoire includes embroidery, English paper piecing, applique, knitting, quilting, cloth dolls, bags, table runners and cushions - pretty much anything made by hand, though she cheerfully draws the line at clothes these days.
From her studio at Great Bay, Stella runs weekly and monthly classes designed to help people learn something new, different and enjoyable. Her approach is relaxed, practical and driven by a genuine love of making.
