From Biodiversity Loss to Action
Does the loss of biodiversity and habitat feel like such a big problem that it’s out of our hands?
Join us for an inspiring and interactive event exploring how small actions and collective voices can help reverse biodiversity loss.
We’ll begin with a 45-minute Domino activity exploring the Great Barrier Reef.
This fun and collaborative experience helps you discover the connections between biodiversity, ecosystems and human wellbeing, while exploring the challenges facing one of the world’s most iconic ecosystems. It’s a chance to learn, connect and share ideas with like-minded people.
This will be followed by a panel discussion with community doers who are putting ideas into action.
Hear inspiring stories of practical initiatives that anyone can contribute to, and discover how everyday people are making a difference for biodiversity and habitat in their communities.
Our panelists are:
Jennifer Farrer, The hills renowned tour guide and co-creator of all the hills council walking maps, shares her experience taking residents through bush and history over the past 23 years.
Shaun Warden, Founder of the Growing Food for Wildlife Project, educating residents about what to grow to support our precious wildlife. https://www.growingfoodforwildlifeproject.org/
Lilly Shwartz, Environmental Citizen of the year, and coordinator of the Hills-Hornsby Rural Koala Project - a citizen science project monitoring the returning koala population in the Hills and Hornsby region.
Come along to learn, connect and be inspired, and discover how your own voice and actions can contribute to positive change for nature.
