SMC Brunch for Dignity - bag packing with the Mums

Help us make a difference this season.
We are honoured to support Share the Dignity’s - It’s In The Bag campaign.

An incredible initiative providing essential items to women and girls experiencing homelessness, fleeing domestic violence, or doing it tough. Every bag packed is a small gesture that carries a big impact, reminding women that they are seen, valued, and deserving of dignity. Together, we can ensure that every woman and girl receives the dignity she deserves this Christmas.

When: Friday 6th November 9.30am 
Where: The Hills of Rivermakers, Morningside
Cost: Free to attend. Food and drinks can be purchased at your own expense.

What to Bring
Help us fill each bag with care by bringing along any of the following approved full size essential items:

• Period products

• Shampoo

• Conditioner

• Toothbrush

• Toothpaste

• Roll-on deodorant (preferred)

• Soap or body wash

• Handbag (new or in great condition) 

Can’t make it but still want to help?
You can drop off approved items to our three drop off points in Bulimba, Morningside or Norman Park, before Friday November 6th.

Drop off Points:

• Remax Results, 3/622 Wynnum Road, Morningside

• OkeeDokee Early Learning Centre, 119 Bennetts Rd, Norman Park

What to expect:

We'll have a table set up with all of the essential items, bags, and a pile of little cards that we can leave a thoughtful message for the recipient. We'll all go around the table packing the items into the bags, and sit down for brunch afterwards if you're able to stay.

We'll provide additional bags, so no worries if you don't have suitable bags to bring.

Once you register, we'll add you to a chat group and share the list of essential items, additional mum & bub bag essentials, and luxury extras you may wish to donate. We'll also provide bag tags, etc. 

Every item donated goes directly into a bag that will make a real difference to a woman or girl in need. Your contribution, no matter how small, helps bring comfort, dignity, and a little kindness this Christmas.

If this is your first SMC event (great) there will be lots of new ladies attending who are looking to make new local mum friends, and we will be there to greet and make sure you feel welcome - so you don't need to worry.

You'll see Caron there in her pink tee ready to welcome you, and our Social Mums Club signage out the front.
