Description

Renewable Energy is one of the fastest growing sectors nationally and globally. To keep up with the rate of progression, Electrical and Environmental Engineers play a large role in creating the workforce for the energy transition. Electrical engineers interact with Environmental engineers on a project level basis, where technical electrical design meets environmental constraints, regulations, and compliance requirements. This event brings together engineers to explore the dual realities of the green energy transition.

The education on multidisciplinary engineering fields is constrained through our regular teaching time, which provides SMEE and MEES with the unique opportunity of bridging the gap between two seemingly very different specialisations. By focusing on a growing sector, we are able to inform students about a career path that will be fruitful for years to come.

By focusing on renewable energy, ECSE students focused on power systems engineering can be given insight on where they can take their electrical expertise to make a real impact in the world. Environmental engineers are needed on a wide variety of projects large and small, but the future of the renewable energy projects is that they will be ever increasing in size. Being able to demonstrate to environmental engineering students where their studies can take them down a very environmentally friendly career path as well.

Food and non-alcoholic beverages will be available at the event for all attendees.
