East Contra Costa HYBRID Community Meeting #2
Event description
You’re Invited: Draft Community Air Monitoring Plan Review (HYBRID Community Meeting)
Now that you've told us where you see and smell air pollution in Pittsburg and Bay Point, help us make sure we got the details right before Mobile Monitoring begins!
Thank you to everyone who participated in the first community meeting on April 15!
Your input is helping shape East Contra Costa’s draft Community Air Monitoring Plan (CAMP). Now, it’s time to review and refine the plan together before monitoring begins.
Join us on Thursday, May 1st, from 6:00–8:00 PM to review the draft CAMP as a community and share your final feedback before air quality monitoring begins in June. This hybrid meeting will be held virtually via Zoom and in person at the Pittsburg Marina Center.
What is a CAMP?
The Community Air Monitoring Plan (CAMP) outlines where and how air quality will be measured in Pittsburg and Bay Point over a nine-month period, from June 2025 to March 2026. Thanks to your input at the first meeting, the draft CAMP will be presented at this second meeting, and you’ll have the opportunity to provide any final feedback. The plan will be made available to community members beforehand so you can review it in advance and come prepared to discuss.
Why is this meeting important?
This is the last opportunity to ensure the draft CAMP accurately reflects the interests and priorities shared by community members. At this meeting, you’ll:
- Review the draft CAMP developed with input from the first meeting and other data collection efforts
- Provide feedback on the proposed monitoring boundary and other key plan details
- Make final recommendations before air monitoring officially begins in June
Your insights will help ensure the CAMP includes the right areas to monitor and that the boundaries reflect what matters most to the community based on the places that community members identified as where they see and smell air pollution in East County.
You do not have to have attended the first meeting to participate—all interested community members are welcome and encouraged to attend!
All in-person attendees will receive a $20 Target gift card, and a casual, buffet-style dinner will be provided.
Don’t miss this final review meeting! Your feedback is essential to ensuring the CAMP truly reflects the concerns and priorities of Pittsburg and Bay Point residents.
We hope to see you there!
