Smoke Alarm Testing & Installation Program ESKDALE
Event description
Free Smoke Alarm Testing and Installation
CFA is visiting ESKDALE and the surrounding area on Thursday 21 to Saturday 24 May 2025 to install free smoke alarms and test existing smoke alarms.
Only working smoke alarms save lives. 72% of fatal house fires start in the bedroom and occur while a person is sleeping. Do you have working smoke alarms in your home?
If you do not have working smoke alarms in your home, you are risking your life and the lives of your loved ones. You will not hear a fire or smell smoke while your are sleeping and by the time it reaches you, it is too late.
By Law, all homes are required to have smoke alarms in hallways between bedrooms and the rest of the home, but fire services also recommend having them installed in bedrooms and living areas.
CFA is installing free smoke alarms powered with a 10 year lithium battery in ESKDALE and surrounding rural area, in the homes of people who cannot purchase, install or maintain their own smoke alarms.
